Cidrerie Michel Jodoin: Update following the fire!
Rougemont, January 6, 2021 - In the wake of the fire that occurred on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at the Cidrerie Michel Jodoin, here are the details concerning the continuation of its activities.
Living on apples and fresh water
Yesterday afternoon, Tuesday, January 5, 2021, flames took over the distillation room, leaving behind only material damage. Naturally, it brought a large amount of smoke and water into our new store as well as onto the office floor. The total value of the damage is still unknown, but it will be repaired as soon as possible.
The light wind blew north at the time of the accident, which meant that no other sections of the cider house were affected. Therefore, the store and factory were thankfully unaffected by the fire. All employees were evacuated, thanks to the first responders on the scene. Our team would like to thank the Rougemont, Marieville and Saint-Césaire firefighters, who limited the damage and quickly brought the fire under control.
Everything is being done to get us back on our feet, thanks to the indispensable help of V-tech électrique, Construction Denis Rivard and others. We will therefore be able to greet you as of 9 AM this Thursday, January 7, 2021. The Cidrerie Michel Jodoin shop and the Jean-Baptiste Jodoin hiking trails will be accessible according to the usual Saturday and Sunday schedule. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our loyal customers during this difficult time.
